For those with a PhatNoise system...
My wife's PhatNoise system is having a problem. After about a couple days of working just fine, the head unit reports "NO CD". Removing the cartridge, powering off the head unit, etc. will not bring it back online. If I unplug the cable where it integrates with the built in car cable, and plug it back in, it usually (80%) will work again, but only for a day or two again...
Anyone have similar problems and/or solution?

No I haven't, but it's been working fine for about 6 months. Firmware should
not "corrupt" like that, right? I read a post on PhatHack.com that some cables for the VW/Audi systems don't have their pins fully seated in the connectors. That makes a lot of sense (pins might get wiggled free), so I will check that out. I guess I will update the firmware too, but I don't assume that will correct this issue.

Here is an article in the Knowledge Base concerning the "No CD" message

Hi there... you know, it did happen to mine, but only once so far...
After the panic and pissed off phase, I ended up reformating the thing, uploading everything all over again, and following the install steps like if it was a brand new device.
It's working fine ever since, yet I wasn't pleased by having to waste time like that.. :-(
btw: I can't find my CD anymore, and the voice promths are now very robotic... did you get the same?

The voice is one reason I don't want to upgrade the firmware. I heard it gets more "mechanical". I
like the voices they way they are now. You can hack the voice files and use different voice generators, but I don't want to mess with all that...
