I've been wanting one for a while, and in to the last minute the $350 was really good!
Ah well, the price of comfort. I expect prices of these will go the way of hard tops due to the end of the model run.

No, it's an Audi part. The stratmosphere one is very light weight, and needs to be removed to drive
This one says in place, you just "zip open" the drivers side and hop in. You can remove it with a few snaps if you want to. It is made of the same material as the top.

"No" .... regarding your Stratmosphere assertion...
They distribute a fabric substitute for the plastic boot cover that comes standard with the Roadster. See the link below.
I have always liked the fabric tonneau that you scored as it takes me back to what MG and British Leyland had on the Sprites, Midgets, MGB's and Triumphs of the 60's and 70's. The problem is that it looks out of place unless you use either the OEM or Stratmosphere boot cover. You should try and score this Strat cover as dealing with the plastic boot cover is a PITA!<ul><li><a href="http://www.stratmosphere.com/tt_softboot_cover.htm">clickee</a></li></ul>

Sorry MCPaudiTT!! ... I forgot that Strat also sells the "very light weight" one too!
I should have remembered as I got the supplier of this product together with Pete as these <a href="http://www.ecarter.net/tonneau/index.html">guys</a> started making their product for Z3's and they are not to far from where I live. I hooked up with them as they were looking for early (this was late 2000) TT Roadster owner's cars that they could prototype their TT product on.
