Paging Anyone who has installed a brake switch on a 6 spd. 225

I bought a new one because my brake lights were stuck on. I plugged it in; but my brake lights are still on! I pushed in and let go of the plunger with no change. Can anyone help?

Bad switch? Check it with a meter..

Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's good..

That's certainly NOT the case! OT is for subjects that do not pertain to Audi's. Feel free to post

any question relating to our cars without an OT marker. There are many people who don't view OT posts (filter them out) so clearing the flag from this post would be to your benefit. You can do they by selecting your post, then clicking on "edit", removing the check at the bottom for "OT posts" and clicking on "update message". Good luck in figuring out your brake switch issue.

ah - I had this problem some time ago; don't recall that it was the brake sw, but >

give me a minute or so to check my 'archives' - work was done under warranty.

sorry - it was a short in the brake sw but >

a month before that I had dome light and door lock problems due to a short in the A-pillar, and 6 weeks before that was in for the same problem (yeah, figure that...) and the locking control module was bad. Wish I could be more help.
