Anyone else in the Daytona Beach area with a TT besides me please reply
I've been trying to diagnose a vibration above 55 in my car for a while now. We've checked everything and are down to one last check. I'd like to swap out my rims/tires for a set that are known to be vibration free for a short test ride to verify that it is my rims (argh!!!!). Another method to check rims...>>>
When I had vibration in mine and no bending showed, Big O Tire put them on their balance machine and the vibration showed there. They informed me the rims were bent as they viewed the results on the balance machine.
You might try going to a reputable tire shop and having them test your wheels and rims on their balance machine. I believe they can also tell if tires are out of round too.
BTW, my 2002 had a misaligned motor mount after a clutch slave replacement. The misaligned motor mount also caused a vibration. After it was properly aligned, the vibration ceased.
