Default Steve... couple of questions about your grill...

I have a similar set-up on my Jeep Grand Cherokee that was store bought from Stull Industries that I have always been fond of. I'm also very fond of the way your grill turned out, and I'm interested in doing the same with mine. I'm just concerned about how well it will hold up over time. Have you had any issues with your inserts loosening since your install? I was also curious as to how long the whole fabrication/installation took you. Is it reasonable to expect to be able to do the whole thing in 4 to 8 hours or so? Do you have any advice for me in terms of approaching this job? I've already been through your fotki section that covers the install, and it does seem fairly straightforward. I'm thinking about doing this at the same time I do the FMIC. Thanks in advance for any response.

Default Been on the car for 4.5 years now..>>

And I have had to do nothing with it since the install. The lowers are done from the outside and take a little time. The only thing that would require the nose off would be the top section. Mine is mounted on a Charactere grill section. No more work than attaching the mesh that comes with the grill. Once cut to shape, about 10 minutes to attach. The lowers will take a few hours. Rather than cut out with bolt cutters, use a cut-off wheel....Should be easier, a bit more precise, and eliminate the knife-like edges you get with cutters. You might think about going with a slighly smaller grade (mine is 12 gauge) as it was a bear to work with..

Default One more question if I may...

I'm trying to source the trim you used around the edges of the valance inserts. I have visited both sites you linked in your install album, but can't seem to locate exactly what it was you used there. Any chance you remember exactly what it was called?

Default Thank you, and your wire mesh was stainless #2, type 304, with .12 wire?

And I noted that you did suggest that I go with a lighter gauge, say maybe .08 width? Also, intercrimp style, or plain weave? Did you have to order an entire coil, or were you able to get one sheet custom cut?
