tt takes its first road trip....
well, eveything has been going smoothly, except i noticed two times while parking on a steep decline (with the wheels toward the curb) that my brake lights were staying on...i thought it was some sort of automated parking light...but after opening up the panel, turns out a 3mm part of the little key under the brake pedal was slightly worn ...it was an easy fix for a friend of mine.
BUT, because i had to get a battery jump (original battery and the car is an april 01 production)...my stereo doesn't turn on anymore!...did a fuse blow or is this the anti-theft in action? (i get no power in the system whatsoever, nothing on the lcd screen). checked the fuse box, and they were all good. anyone?
PS for Sal: Mechanic Vic is awesome!...Coincindentally, I had him check my car out last week- just to give me peace of mind-and he says my tt is very clean, but to keep my eye on that original battery. so as my luck would have it...no music on the way home!
Before you pull the HU check to make sure you have the manual that contains your HU theft protection key - it's a 4-digit number. If you don't have that, this is a dealer repair only. That key will enable you to get the radio working again from "SAFE" mode to operational.
I dunno anything about that Brake issue - never seen it. And yes, that battery was long overdue for replacement.
Enjoy the car - sounds like you are having fun!
guess the next time i get a jump the stereo should be off?? ...although, i still haven't replaced the battery. <---CHEAPPP... Hey I figure it's working fine for the moment...
