if it's a 225, it's the after-run coolant pump......

it continues to circulate coolant through the turbo for a few minutes after shut down.

It's not the pressure build up in the petrol tank ? I used to get a weird

humming sound from a previous car, and this was what it was. Nothing wrong with it, just something it done.

only thing is, I wouldn't describe it as a hum - pretty obvious it's a fan running to my ear - maybe he should pop the hood and listen again!
