My 180 Engine Blew Can i get a 225?

Yesterday i was on the NJ parkway and my timingbelt went so im almost positive since we have interveining engines that my motor is totaly shot and i would like something with more power but i dont really want to go out of the price range so my question is does the 225 1.8t mat up to the 5spd if not then would any of you recomend a upgrade engine like a 2.0 or a 2.2 longbock over just a new stock 180 from what ive herd its 7000 dollars from audi to replace the stock 180 and mines a 2000 so i dont know if its worth it

Sorry to hear, how many miles on your car?

You may be over reacting a bit, hopefully you can get away with just replacing the head or having yours repaired.

BTW-
Audi CPO replaced my 180 (2000 TTQC) to the tune of US$6500. They forgot to replace the tensioner when I had the TB replaced on-schedule. Pay attention grasshopper.

i had 80k and im strugling to pay for my car as is i have to go pick me car up soon because its sitting off the parkway and i live like 100 miles away so i need to decide soon were to bring my car wether i should just leave it at audi or what, i really dont feel like dealing with flemington audi and there issues so

thank you for the award at least ive won something out of this deal

maintence is a requirement. If it's a struggle for you now, perhaps you should take the opportunity to reconsider rather than getting into a complicated transformation.

Your best bet would be a quality local independant mechanic

That can give you an honest answer on the issue and costs. Some people have had luck taking it to Audi and having them "help" somewhat since the timing belt is a known issue they like to forget about. But considering you are a considerable way out of warranty I doubt you'd receive any help.

Maybe someone who knows your location based on "Flemington Audi" could recommend a nice independant shop.
