Default Silly question-?? Would it be worth it to change my interior color-??

Right now I have gray or grey, what ever way you want to spell it. I went to a car show in Seattle and I really like the red interior, now. My car is silver on the outside. Make it look more like ALMS TT. I probably just change the seats. Maybe the door panels. Yea or nan on that move. If i drove my car every day the red might be to much but I don't.

Default i thought the red would get obnoxious over time:

heres a lesson from college economics:
if marginal cost < marginal benefit you should do it. Consider the cost, you may end up paying for two airbags (on the seats). Pricy and not worth all the works etc imho

Default You'd have to replace more than that to do it right ...

Hundreds of interior pieces and the biggest piece the carpet.

Default I think the ALMS interiors have red seats, ebrake handle, door inserts, door handles, steering wheel

leg rests on the center console and I think that's it. They also have a black headliner instead of the normal grey. The smaller bits can be done pretty cheaply thru vagparts.com

I'm curious about this also. I was thinking of doing red, tan, or just get a set of baseball seats.

Default Yeah, he'll also have to replace things like ...

Lower dash, center piece, glovebox, small piece under steering column, pieces next to the leg rests, plastic piece along the doors, center piece where cupholders are, rear side pieces ... hell, that's not even including the trunk area. I do believe there are pieces back there that would need replaced with black. Basically a ton of pieces I don't know the correct names for, but there are a ton -- I've thought about this once or twice. ;-)

To be honest with you Mr. 3.2 TT, if you're a DIY kind of guy, you're in luck. There are good dyes out there that dye leather and plastic interior pieces. I would suggest looking into that first...

Default yep, i've done most of it ...

it's a lot of work -- and pretty costly. i don't know how much it would be with the normal seats (they can't be cheap with the airbags), but with the qs seats, it's around $10K just for parts.

Default Uh huh, that's why I suggest dyeing if he really wants it ...

I've seen some people's DIYs and it looks quite good IMO. Looks OEM. I'll post the products tomorrow morning if anyone's interested.
