its hard to make out but you can see the brown edge of the clear coat and where (due to scrubbing) some of it flaked away.

Default It almost looks like it was repainted...>

and they just masked the emblem. Lots of guys with silver cars have debadged with no issues. Is there a slight lip all around where the brown edge is? If so, I'm sure that's what happened.

Default I feel for you. May want to reapply with...

DSA-41-10
Double sided adhessive tape or something similar.

It will probably still show, at least to you, but not to the casual observer.

Sorry this happened.
Good luck.<ul><li><a href="http://www.smallparts.com">Smallparts</a></li></ul>

Default 2nd, especially if the edge of the clear flaked off. There shouldn't be an edge there.

Probably your best bet is to reattach your badges with some double sided tape. At least you'll know exactly where to put the badges.

Hmm yeah, slight edge up but what flakes off is clear,\

could this just be a later added layer of clearcoat?

dangit ill prolly just rebadge, was thinking of paiting the tt logo glossy black anyway.

will the clay bar not work anymore?

argh. thanks guys.

Default Looks to me like Earl Scheib did one of his special paint jobs

Can't believe someone would repaint a bumper without removing the badges. They could have painted a portion of the bumper and clear coated more than they repaired to blend or something. But that's definitely not normal and if you can feel a ridge there that is clear coat and not just built up wax then the clay bar won't do any good. A random Orbital with some machine polish may make it better but you'd esentially have to take off that whole extra layer of clear coat which I definitely wouldn't recommend.

Back to badges, it's not so bad.

Default Yup.....>

Sounds like it was shot over...Maybe a small dent was repaired somewhere on the bumper. They generally shoot the whole panel with clear on a repair like that. I'd just re-badge, clay and compound probably won't help you here....
