40K service question
Howdy all. I searched the forum already I swear. I had my 40k service for my '01 225 serviced at 38,000 miles. Around mile 40,200 a "service!" signal came on my display, and then around 40,600 a CEL came on. There was no loss of power, car drives the same, no explosion of engine, etc. So, I'm assuming the lights and signals are for the service interval and merely need to be reset. Does this sound right? I hope so, 'cause it's too much stress for me to see that light ever.

They just forgot to re-set the service warning (procedure is in the manual I believe). The CEL is something totally different and indicates something is wrong...Take it back and have them put a code reader on it and see what it is...
Also make sure they changed the Haldex and brake fluid, changed plugs and filters etc. If it's not on the work-order it probably wasn't done and is called for at the 40K which is a relatively important service..

Yes the service interval needs to be reset.. the CEL is unrelated. Read the code with VAG-COM
If you don't have access to it, run over to AutoZone and they'll read your codes for free. Read, record, reset and see if it comes back again.
