Default audio help!

I had a complete audio overhaul in my '04 TT S-series Roadster, viz., top-line Panasonic head, 4 port audio-in expander, AM, FM, XM, iPod (in sliding tray in front of the gear shift), 8-disk Panasonic changer (in compartment behind the driver's seat), JL speakers, 8 inch JL subwoofer (in the compartment between the seats) and a preamp (neatly mounted behind the driver's seat). The sound is fantastic, but one problem-the subwoofer sits very close to the CD changer by design and when the bass is thumping ("Cracklin' Rosie") the CD changer skips (proximity effect!!). Stuffed bubble wrap wherever I could and it helped a little. Oh, I could turn the bass down, or use the iPod or the head unit single CD, but I don't find that satisfying. Any suggestions with this seeming design flaw??

Default steel plate to reflect pressure wave? turn down the bass? relocate the CDC?

my CD option is collecting dust since i hooked up the ipod

nice setup but the CDC seems redundant, imo

Did you seal and stuff the sub compartment? I say relocate the track to your Ipod

Thanks very much--no, I didn't seal and stuff the woofer compartment, I focused on wrapping the CD changer, but I'll try that idea. Relocating the track to the iPod seems to be the consensus, but to someone who spent this much money ripping out a crappy Bose Symphony (including speakers) and replacing everything, compressing good bass for an iPod does take something away that is noticeable to me (it's fine for most things and I use the iPod a lot), but not Neil Diamond). Playing the uncompressed CDs is much nicer. Also, loading 8 is a tidy choice. Can't mount anything in the trunk in an S-series as far as I can see, what would you think about mounting the changer behind the passenger seat? A steel plate or another type of vibration isolator strategy placed behind the carpet with screws held by the carpet (no damage to the body and very minimal effects on the carpet).

Appreciate your input.
