Default Mods are happening again, and I need some tech assistance/suggestions...>>>

So I got the boost gauge last week and now I just ordered a boost machine along with a vent ring adapter from Steve. I am now considering a phenolic spacer and a DV relocate kit. I know they are out of the Red DV relocate kits through TTStuff(I want to match my boost machine hoses in red). Can someone give me some insight on HP gains, ease of installation, etc...on these two items?

Default Can you do a DV relocate on a 180? I thought that was only available for 225s

The phenolic spacer is a more difficult install. You need to remove the intake manifold which requires removing a bunch more stuff including the fuel rail.

I don't think you gain any HP from either of these. The spacer is like the FMIC and helps to preserve power by controlling heat. The DV relocate also helps with heat to some degree (recirculating cooled air instead of straight out of the turbo) but helps more with responsiveness than anything else.

Default Just a suggestion.... Do only one mod at a time.....

Take this from a very mod happy guy. When you do multiple of these mods and you get a CEL, then you wonder what happened.

Do your boost gauge, drive for a week. Do the DV relo, drive for a week. Etc.

Doing it like this will give you a better idea what each mod does.

Default You can do the relo on the 180. Lots of dubbers have done this...>>

in fact I'm planning this as well. Hopefully before TTE.

Default how does the plumbing work on that?

Do you run a hose over the top of the engine?

Default sort of; around the side w/a 180 manifold >

with a forge FMIC and a 225 mani on a 180 it's a lot more difficult bit still do-able.

I would think with a 225 manifold it'd be easier to do.

Default Has to do w/forge FMIC MAP sensor location and battery clearance >

Forge has located the MAP sensor very close to the TB and it's tought to cut there and install the splice tube, much less the DV itself - though that can be adjusted. Not impossible, but nearly so; there is another solution I'm working out.
