OK, so I have this really old Bell helmet that I used for the go cart.......
There are no cracks and the straps are both good, but the top foam is missing.

It does appear to have a yellow SCCA certified sticker, but it appears to have been manufactured in 1970, now hold off on your laughter, unless you must, would this pass for the TT East Autocross?

In my not-so-professional opinion...
As a technical inspector, I would have to say no, that would not pass. Even if it had never been wrecked, the styrofoam loses it's efficacy over time. We do not allow anything older than 5 years. This if for motorcycles, so if we doubled it for cars, I think that would still not pass.

come on now, I just bit the bullet for a $300. yada, yada, yada,,BS approved whatever helmet....
so that I could embarrass myself in this autocross. If you plan on doing the same I hope you plan on doing it with more than that helmet. Damn, I have at least three of those things hanging in the garage.
