Default So if I decide to get Revo at TTEast, should I take along a new MAF?.......

If so, I know there are tons of threads on this but what is our current best choice for a 2003 225Q?

Default best choice of what?

choice of programs for Revo? Or are you referring to MAFs, as in new or re-man'd or VW?

I don't think it's chipping that kills MAFs....they just die. It's never a bad idea to have a spare one on hand anyway, especially for road trips (a spare coil pack never hurts either).

If you still have a stock DV, I'd recommend getting a spare (preferrably, though you ought to get an aftermarket one as chipping usually eats the stock ones).

Don't even think twice about the Revo...just do it, and you'll never look back.

I just went with one program, 93 octane with no SPS devices. I never have a need to switch back to stock as my dealer is mod friendly.

Default Looking for an MAF, and place to purchase, you are right I need to get some spare....

coils also. I do have the Greddy RS and keep my stock as a spare. It just seems like when people chip they always seem to need a new MAF.

Default you should always have a spare MAF and at least 2 coilpacks as backups...

you never know when they will crap out on you...but at least on the way to TT-E, you should keep the spare MAF and 2 coilpacks in the trunk with a set of minimum tools to make the swap. this way, at least you won't get stranded anywhere.

the DV will hold up fine if it craps out on you on the road...you'll still be able to drive it. i actually have 4 other aftermarket DVs at home and can switch them out when i want. i think Schwing has twice that...not as spares but to evaluate them for Forge.

Default Not a bad idea. Get a remanufactured one, as the elements are new in those anyway. Find the best

price. A good source was posted a few weeks ago (by Schwing?) - I think it was 1stvwparts, but I am not certain it was them...

Default Got mine done at TT Central - no issues once I secured that hose...

..that blew off in the first 15 minutes I had no idea your car wasn't chipped yet.

Have fun!

Default i blew one of my hoses off...the plug...when i relocated the DV...had to use the Audi

screwdriver which was a joke. now, i carry a few good tools...especially if i plan to go further than 50-100 miles away from home.

Default I screwed mine back on with change I had in my pocket - forgot about the damn screwdriver (longish)

... but I had just lost the caravan to the Louisville Slugger museum and had to pull off the highway under an overpass so I was a bit distracted. As soon as I got out of the car, the people "living" under the bridge started walking towards the car - maybe they wanted to help, maybe they wanted to eat my brain (it had a "Night of the Living Dead" kinda feel to it)but I got the hell otta there and did my best to keep the boost gauge under 5PSI on the way to the museum. I'm now sporting nice a HD clamp courtesy of Grossman Tuning.

Default A toolkit is helpful.

Of course, so is having a former tanker who is willing to help wrangle a popped hose back into place driving the TT right behind you. ;-)
