TT Problems -- Novice Needs Advice
I bought a used 2003 TT Roadster about a year ago. I love it, but have had some problems.
1.) About 50% of the time I start the car there is no sound from my stereo. Everything lights up, and appears to function correctly, but there is no sound. If I turn the car off and back on, it works fine. Audi replaced the radio, but it didn't fix the problem.
2.) About 75% of the time the driver side headlight will not turn on. If I repeatedly turn the lights off/on it eventually turns on.
3.) In trunk lights only work 40% of the time
5.) Fuel gauge is off -- shows half-a-tank when near empty.
6.) A few times a week, in the morning when I am leaving for work, I put the car in reverse to back out of my parking space. The engine starts to run rough, and then dies.
Any help is appreciated. The dealer has been accomodating, but hasn't been able to fix the above (I've been told they couldn't recreate the problems, I believe them to an extent). The car has 44,000 miles and no modifications.

1-3 don't sound good... Intermittent electrical gremlins are tough to diagnose. 4 is missing. 5
is a pretty common TT problem. Could be fuel senders or could be the cluster. Sounds like you have a warranty (?) - if you do, push for a new cluster (they are $$$, and commonly fail). You might also try a few tanks of Techron - it might clear up a sender problem. Also search for sender cleaning, it is something you can DIY.
6 I don't quite get. It idles fine, but when you put it in reverse it stumbles? What if you idle longer? Have the plugs been replace (should have been at 40k)?
