Default Ok so my sub install is almost done...couple final questions

i tapped the wire labeled "LR" and "COM" in the line out section of my head unit...connected them up to the high level inputs and got nothing except a low freq. hum from the sub. What am i doing wrong here? remote wire is run (and works) but that hum has got to go in exchange for some bump! I gathered that these may need to go into the line level (rca) inputs but dont know how to convert the 2 (or 3 if i run both channels) into the 5 (1 shield + 4 wires (red, green, blue, and brown irrc)...anyone?

and for those who need a diagram to refresh their memory here it is:

Default Doesn't your amp have low/line level

inputs? That's where it needs to go. By the way, you definitely want a mono signal so you don't lose the low freqs on the other channel.

Default The Com goes to every shielded/jacket on all RCAs ...

and the other 4 wires (RF, LF, RR, LR) attach to the center wire in the RCAs.

Simple!

Default I see ...

Wire up both of the fronts to RCAs then and you'll be good.

Default but then i should try to match up the LF to both lefts (on rca) and RF to both rights (on rca)...

seems logical to me...ill give it a whirl tomorrow...one odd thing i did notice was that the voltage between com and RF was a constant 4.7v no matter whats going on with the music

Default Did you get rid of the Bose Amp? If not, RR and LR should be coming from the Bose Amp.

And as far as I know (and I may be wrong), the Bose Amp sends only low frequency mono bass to the rear speakers...so if you are using the Bose, you should be OK with tapping into the left or the right of the Bose amp's output.
