Default TT battery

Had my battery go bad in my 03'1.8 TT at 28k miles.
Had it towed to the dealership to replace the battery under warranty.
Dealer claims that they're out of batteries.
Was told the car would be finished Monday so I had to rent a car.
Should a battery replacement take 5 days ?
Is the battery some special type in the TT ?
Any opinions ?

Default Would have been cheaper..>>>

To just spend $60-70 on a new one it seems without a loaner thrown in for you to drive...Common size, available anywhere..

No, they didn't mention it.
Is that normal procedure ?

I thought of that at first and then assumed the ecu would have to be re-done.

Default dealer just replaced mine same day (2004 with 35k mi)...

My dealer gives you a loaner if you bought the car from them (I did not); otehrwise, they give you a ride to work. Never kept it overnight so I do not know what they would do.

Default It must vary from different Audi dealerships but when i need a repair

and I am under factory warranty with the TT. I always am given a car to drive while the vehicle is being repaired.

i just can't understand why its so difficult for them to locate a car battery.

Default If TT is under warranty, dealer is supposed to supply either rental or loaner...>>>

when a warranty repair causes the car to be kept overnight.

Sonnen in Marin has given me a loaner VW New Beetle.

Audi of Oakland gives me a free Enterprise rental.

Audi dealers are reimbursed for the loaner cars by Audi of America under the warranty program.

IMO your dealer is pretty lame...

I think you should call the dealer and get it straightened out.

Worst case scenario would be to go to Sears and buy the battery that fits in the TT, then get your car back pronto. That would be on your own nickle, but less expensive than renting a car over the weekend.

Also, you need to find another Audi dealer for service.

Default Re: TT battery

This was actually the first dissapointing experience I had with the dealer.
Should have had the sense to get a battery at walmart and then made an appointment to have any
reprogramming done later. Oh well, too late now

It's dealer policy, not AoA policy
