omg! $700 for glovebox!

Default omg! $700 for glovebox!
Glove box latch comes off and drops into floorboard. Anyway to still get it open? Also,
dealership says $700+ to replace. Any alternatives? TIA

Default Fix it!
Gett Da Nett has posted fix it help here....Do a search!

As far as opening it, pop off the panel on the right of the dash (Mirror image of the fuse box cover) and push the pin in with a pick..

Default I used this fix mine w/o the speed nut
I just drilled and tapped the plastic. It's held up fine. I lost the lower plastic pin though.

You should be able to open the glove box just by pressing the metal tab here

to one side (right I think). Use a screwdriver if you can't get a finger in there.
