Popping sound when I turn, like cracking knuckles.
Basically, when I turn the steering wheel most of the way (like when making a really sharp turn, or more often, when parallel parking), I'll here this "pop" or snap from somewhere in the front of my car. I liken it to someone cracking their knuckles. I believe I can actually feel the pop in the steering wheel too, but I'm not sure. Once it happens it usually won't happen again (at least when turning in that direction) until I've driven straight for a while. It doesn't happen if I am turning the wheel and not moving though and I can never reproduce it by turning the wheel back and forth stationary. I think I have to be moving, even if it's very slowly.
Since this started happening, I've had the following things replaced: the steering rack, control arms, sway bars, shocks, springs, and one of the front rims which pretty much leaves just the tie rods which haven't been replaced in a while. I'm surprised that none of these things have fixed this problem.
Anyone have any ideas as to what could be going on?
