timing belt (water pump) near miss
Whew! Took my 2001 TTQR in at 65k to get the timing belt replace at my local garage along with some other more minor stuff. Ended up the shop couldn't get to the timing belt chage before I needed the car back so I drove it about 4k more before taking it back in... I was very lucky! My water pump impeller (plastic) was broken badly but had shown no symptoms. I am sure it was only a matter of time.
Thank you guys for pushing the early TB replacement on this forum. There is no way in heck that I would have been able to make 90k let alone 100 whatever.
Folks, listen when these guys tell you to change your TB, etc. at 60-70k.
