Default Of course it's a yay.....>>

20% reduction in heat at the manifold. Less heat = more timing = more power

Default So those are not the ones that used to melt. >>

I can't remember what brand and material it was but I saw Jeff's old Heatshield melted up to intake manifold. That was not pretty.

The Phenolic (Evoshield) won't melt.....You're thinking of the "powergasket"

Default fwiw seems like my reductions are even greater >

there must be a significant difference in engine heat between 180's and 225 - TransporTT's bay was wildly hot for instance - (too much so, for a 'regular' drive, but that's the only 225 I've got to compare with - other than oil temps posted on the forum); his mani was far to hot to touch afterward, so I'd say that's your 20%, a good reduction (mani temp of what, say 175 -180?). Mine on the other hand can actually be touched - warm/hot, but won't burn you - after a full drive (oil temp to 220), so much more than 20% (maybe on the order of 140F; a 40% percent reduction - is that possible?). Need to get a spot temp reader on it sometime.
