Why use an oil designed for diesel engines?
The Delvac 1 oil, although fine for gasoline engines, was designed for heavy-duty diesel engines. Why not use regular Mobil 1 or even better, AmSoil's European Car Formula in this engine? Well, I spent a month on the bobistheoilguy forums one day >>>
as well as some other sites and found alot of positive information regarding this oil as well as many audi/vw people that use it and have their engines last well over 200k miles. The oil meets the api and aeca specs and is fine for gasoline engines.

it's an incredible oil for the price and you can't find 5w 40 mobil
unless it's for diesels, they have now passed the SJ ratings that audi requires. some of us don't like 0 weight oils and my car doesn't like 5w 30. do a search over at bobistheoilguy forums.

I was just curious of the reason...
I noticed several people here run the 5w40 although my manual states 5w30. I thought maybe they changed the recommendation during a model year change. So it is just a personal preference to run the 5w40?
