From what others have said, TCarbon is best buy at less than half of others with similar performance

Default My vote

Same here. I have seen very little (i.e. ZERO) numbers on the new IC. I would have ordered one already, but that is the only thing hanging me up on it. I'm very much a numbers person, and this mod makes me excited, but only if it's going to stack up. I'm not expecting miracles, but it needs to be better than what I have (DSMIC) and be within 5-10% of the big-guns (APR, FORGE, etc.).

Default Well, what should tCarbon compare TO. Is there ANY data from APR, O.CT, Forge, etc? If there is, I

haven't seen any. That said, I love my O.CT, it "adds power*" to my car without a doubt!

* By adding power, I mean there is power now where there wasn't before - sounds like addition to me!

Default I agree

I thought Steve The Magnificent had run some numbers before on his IC setup. It was mainly those numbers I was referring. Didn't mean any offense.

Steve did - found the forge at 92% efficiency compared to stock duals at 80%

Default Thats what I mean, Steve has done a nice job comparing FMIC to SMIC>>

But how do the different FMIC designs stack up. APR has some interesting flow and temperature data on their website which makes a starting point. They claim to have an advantage over the "other" designs. But what are the specs of the others? A bar and plate system seems to be superior to an extruded core. What else do we know?

Default Would it be possible for those of you with FMIC's to perform similar tests>>

using Vagcom, as Steve did, to compare your current FMIC to the stock intercoolers? We already know what the eficiency of the stock intercoolers is. What is the efficiency of the FMIC on your car? Of particular interest what is the efficiency of the TCarbon FMIC??

Default Post a "workable" procedure, and I will follow it. I don't think the data will be very useful,

though, given the different external temps, states of tunes of different cars, etc. Also, not sure that the needed data is available via VAGCOM - I think Steve used an external temp capture method (could be wrong, though).
