Default I asked this question at the tire forum but no one knows...
Has anyone used 245/45/17 on stock rims? I'm going back to stock rims and need to know. I heard some have installed 235's

It would depend on brand. Sizes are not consistent between manufacturers.

He should check the manufacturer's specs for that particular tire.

Default Go stock...
I've got 245s on 17x8s...admittedly that's pushing it. To go further than 225 on the stock 17x7.5s would give you trouble.
