Default ??? serp. belt replacment

Going into the shop in a bit to change serp belt and DV. perhaps start the boost gauge finally. Anything that I should know about changing the belt. I'd wait for the Bentley but the thing is in bad shape. Thanks, Nathan

If your serp is shot, how is your Timing belt? It is MUCH more important! How many miles are you?

Default Check out my write up on the alternator replacement

You have to remove the serp belt when replacing the alternator. That belt is easy to replace, no real trick to it. Pull up on the tensioner with a 15mm open end wrench and slide the belt off the pulleys. Just remember how the old one snakes around and slide the new into place.

Alternator replacement

Default Looks like something that I would expect to fail at any moment>

In the past I've let this go on a couple of my cars and would rather not have it strand me with the weather going south.

If you are an '01 or older, T-Belt better be at the TOP of the short list!

Default If I had my way the TT would sit until I can get all of the part together>

I just changed jobs last week and do not have my company vehicle yet. Most likely won't have it for at least 6 months. So the TT no longer gets to just sit around and look good waiting for a nice day. Original plan was to do all belts and such while it sat most of the time anyway. Having been given an offer I could not refuse changed things a little. In the market for another Festiva but no luck so far. Have to maintain things when I have the opportunity. Have a friend that manages a service shop and after hours I go use the lift and such. Can't have the car still sitting there in the morning though. Thanks to all of you for assisting me. Nathan
