Anyone ruin the rear bushings on the Defcon install?

Anyone ruin the rear bushings on the Defcon install?

i'm a pretty good mechanic but not all that experienced w/ a press. anyway, my dealer did not have the exact diameter fitting to press in the rear bushings. it went in only a hair crooked. so i just pressed down the edge that was high and presto...........NOT. ****ing bushing can now be pushed in and out by hand now. negatives of soft aluminum. SO i was much more careful with the second one and Mike, sorry I needed to steal one of Peters to finish my car. I'll have to buy another one. fronts were easy.

Well, at least you had Peter's handy! For pressing items in, you don't need anything

close at all - you just need a large plate with a hole in it (to clear the center metal that sticks up higher). Heck, a 1'x1' plate (with a hole in it) would work fine!

If you can believe it, our WHOLE damn dealer has no plate with a big enough hole!

had to use the old bushings sleeve. also that POPPING noise has the Defs go in is scary!

You should've come by wih Garry ; )

Did you use some anti-sieze on the DEFCONs? If don't think they sound nearly as bad going in as the OEM bushes do going out - THAT I fine scary!

Are you aligned? How's it drivin?

Torque specs...

Torque specs for reinstallation of front lower control arms after installation of DEFCON parts in to the arms (how's that for a nice keyword search list?!)

Control Arm Bolts: 50 ft-lb (70 Nm) PLUS a quarter turn (90 degrees).

Ball Joint Nuts: 55 ft-lb (75 Nm)
