Default New coils on the car - figured out the part # issue as well - went with the latest "R" revision

coils. ETKA calls for an 06A 905 115 A. Oddly enough my car had 06B 905 115 J packs in it. Since I bought the car with 34k on it - I have no idea if they were ever replaced or not.

As I mentioned the AWP calls for the 06B 905 115 R coils which are the latest version. Interestingly enough - the original AWP part number is same 06A 905 115 A! ETKA clearly shows the supercession for the AWP but does not call for any supercession for the BEA. ODD.

Suffice it to say - it's running great - although two of the coil pack connector have broken tabs. I'll have to replace those - but they seem to stay on firmly for now.

So - "R" packs for the push down style and "E" for the bolt downs.

Default is Audi the only European car plagued with coil / maf issues? Seems way excessive! >>

nearly everyone here has been hit by these gremlins

Default The newer coils don't seem to be so bad - but..........

to answer your question - no - coils - especially these individual style are more prone to failure.

Default I was gonna comment on that from the earlier msg -->

I looked at mine (AMU engine) and they are bolted down. You have the BEA, right? I think your part numbers may be a little off. 971 is likey to be 905... but

Hey, on the subject of the family album. If you don't have version 7, let me know. I'll be bringing it to TT West where I assume you'll be.

Default Interesting, I also have a BEA engine, my original push ins were.......

06B 905 115J, replaced with 06B 905 115N about a year ago. Seems like they continue to upgrade, hopefully for the better. Where did you get yours and how much? My last one from a dealer was about $32
