Default Just when I was about to pay full price...

I was thinking of getting the big brake kit from Brembo when yesterday a buddy of mine who owns an '04 Jetta (check out link below -- a close up picture is at the bottom of the article) wanted to know if I wanted to buy his Neuspeed (by Brembo) Front brake kit. It's 12.9", with 4 pistons. It's been used for only 2,000km. I know both the Jetta and TT share the same bolt pattern, and he said he tried the fitment on his own TT and there wasn't any issues. However I wanted to double check with people on the forum if this is do-able.

http://www.eurotuner.com/featuredvehicles/160_0701_et_2004_volkswagen_jetta_gli/</a

Default It'll probably work fine... worth a call to Neuspeed for their opinion (edited)

12.19 is a big brake on the Jetta, but it's the stock size on most TT's. If you were hoping for the "look" of a larger rotor, this won't do it. But perfomance, feel, and unsprung weight should mprove substantially, thanks to the aluminum "opposing" 4 piston caliper.

ooops! 12.9" IS a big rotor on a TT! I mis-read... or had 12.19 on my mind!! (some Wilwood kits use a 4 piston caliper on the 12.19 rotor)

Default I know the adapters from ECS to run Boxster calipers is different for the TT and the Golf/Jetta...

As stated by Russ, a call to Neuspeed should clear things up.

FWIW, I think Uneek has a StopTech kit for sale.

I haven't been able to compare it with any other suspension kits first hand, but for the cost it is a great set of coilovers. My buddies at my local shop had no problems with the install... at least they didn't tell me of any problems. I mainly purchased them for aesthetics not performance.

Once the weather gets better and the TT is out of storage I will post some pics of my ride. My signature picture is completely out-dated.

Default I was considering inquiring with Uneek, but my buddy is selling his kit for $500 and...

that is a steal in my books(with only 2,000km). I will definitely give Neuspeed a call to absolutely certain. Thanks!

Default how did it first feel compare to your previous setup, assuming you had stock set up. for instance

is the car ride smoother, rougher, no difference. obviously it's lower than stock. i just want some general idea and like you said it's a great price for a coil over kit but if the quality is crap, why bother spending the money

thanks for your response i'm sure other want to know about this as well since you and maybe another forum member are the first 2 guinea pigs

Default There is definitely a reduction in body roll in tight corners. Transitions in and out...

are smooth. However, I can't really comment on ride quality/stiffness because I am running 235/35/19 up front and 265/30/19 in the rear, so I feel pretty much every crack in the road. I've only been able to put maybe a few hundred km's on them before I put the TT into storage. I'm tracking it in May, that's when I will really be able to feel the difference.

The part #'s for the MK4 Golf/Jetta and the Audi TT are in fact different.

I did some digging and the diference is in the brake line. Brembo uses a different brake line for eack of those systems. If the deal on the system is good enough, buy it and order new lines.
