This is disturbing, and I don't mean for Alabama. I actually like Top Gear, but this stunt -
and that's all this was - was idiotic. This is not journalism, and it has nothing to do with cars. This was purely an attempt in incite a riot, and to point out how "stupid" Americans are.
Go over to the UK, and try a corollary action in a pub, or at a soccer match. Same thing (or worse) will happen.
I found this segment is quite disappointing...

True, but i have no desire to visit Alabama - mississippi area
If you went to poor areas in UK and wrote football (soccer) sucks on the side of your car, you would definitely be hard pressed to get out of there without a scratch.
But still am amazed that many parts of New orleans have not been cleaned up. Was down there about 6 months ago. Goin down again this weekend for Mardi Gras!!

I'd say they did an awfully good job. Note that you don't see violence over "Jeb for President" signs in Liberal areas or people threatening violence against the "god Hates ****" folks. It's only the deeply intolerant south and other rural areas (I live and grew up here, don't presume to tell me different) that seem to get violent when you challenge their worldview.
Part of the fun of Top Gear is it's cheeky nature. That these "deep red" folks responded with violence against a Hillary for President slogan, an ostensibly proud homosexual, and a "Country and Western Sucks" joker shows just how wrong we are when we claim to be a higher moral authority as a country.
It was deeply disturbing, and quite funny as well.

I certainly won't try to tell you different, and I lived many years in the South as well.
I don't condone their actions, but if you poke a bear with a stick and don't expect a response, you are the dunce...
