Default HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My clutch just started slipping (revving harder but not gaining speed so quick). Do you have any idea how to fix it or what I need to do or change. Your help is really appriciated. Thanks

Default uh, replace the clutch?

Seems like an easy fix to me...without mileage or usage info, we can't really say. clutches are a wear item. Individual experiences may vary. Etc.

Its an 01' 225hp Quattro w/ 76700 miles. I'm thinking the same thing. Any idea on what I should expect to pay for the parts and labor?

Default That's about the typical mileage

Better drivers will get more, but I replaced around 85K miles. I think I spent $1700, parts and labor, at an independant shop.

In order to replace a clutch in an Audi TT the transmission has to be removed to get to the components and then has to be put back into the car after the defective parts are replaced. You can price the cost of parts at a site like ECS tuning. Labor depends upon how much the dealer or independent shop wants to charge.
There may also be a need to replace the flywheel or have it resurfaced depending upon wear. Do a search for clutch replacement on this site to get a better idea about what is involved.

For more specific information I would suggest you go to a competant independent shop that works on TT's in your area and get a price quote from them. Unless you know how to do it yourself, you are going to have to find a shop that can do it for you. There will be a substantial cost. German cars are not cheap to own. If it is any consolation, no modern vehicle is all that cheap to own and maintain. Last Spring I shelled out $1,200 for a water pump and timing belt for my wife's 1998 RAV 4 at an independent shop. Toyota dealer would have been about $350 more than that.
