Default Exhaust leak found!

Well, I finally got the time today to track down my annoying exhaust leak. I was concerned that I might have a cracked exhaust manifold (THANKS HANS!!! :-( ). As it turns out, the manifold is not cracked. I have lost a nut from one of the 3 flange bolts between the curved part of the DP and the flex joint. That sucker vibrated right off. Should be a real easy fix (remove charge pipe, maybe strut brace, add new nut, tighten). The bad news is that it's a 13mm nut, and the only store I had time to check with today didn't have 13mm nuts. They had 12mm and 14mm, but no 13mm! WTH? Hopefully I can track some down tomorrow at another location. Anyhoo, the problem isn't nearly as bad as I was fearing.

PS. To those of you with 42DD dp's, check your nuts!

Default You need a 5/16"-18 x 1 1/4" fully threaded grade 2 bolt, lockwasher, and nut>>

I'm American, I use American hardware

You need a fully threaded bolt. The bolt screws in through the flex pipe joint and then into the top most portion of the DP. Like a stud, so that you can access the nuts on this flange.

Evan, the bolt is still in place, actually. I just need a nut and a lockwasher to go on it.

Is 42DD DP still clearing brackets, etc. on your roadster? Hope to do this mod someday.

Default Yup, nary a clunk, even at full throttle from a dead stop.

Of course I did have to replace the OEM dogbone bushing with a firmer polyurethane one, but hey, what matter $12.00? The pipe is a pleasure on multiple levels.
