Default Mmmmmmm, KW Goodness..

Just showed up yesterday. Thanks go out to tCarbon for the quick service and the great deal. Always a pleasure..

Hopefully there won't be any fitment issues with my DPE wheels in spring. The wheels hardly had any clearance from the Bilstiens and I know Bob went through a similar issue recently. I do think I have enough room to run a bit of a spacer if needed.

Hoping that with a little help from the local TT Community (Past and present)that I can get these installed on the 24th. The mk1 control arms should be going in the same time too. Much better news than a catastrophic engine failure.

Default You are going to love them! Should be no sweat on the install since you have the

OEM crap out of the way already... You shouldn't even any tie-wraps! ; )

LOL, I hope I can avoid the tie wraps. I do have spring compressors if needed.

Default They should have the updated springs although I forgot to check

Thanks for the reminder to do that tonight.

Took about a week to get them I think it was. I talked about getting them longer then that so I'm not sure when exactly I pulled the trigger.

Default Since you'll want to not re-use the old bearings -->

And you'll have the control arm out, just drop the whole strut completly out. Get a set of new upper strut parts, bearing, mounting, nut and install them on the KW's.

You'll need the tool to expand the wheel bearing housing to release the old strut. The KW's just slip in if you clean out the mount. And lots of the bolts are stretch type, so get a whole new set for the install.

It took me about 2 hours but I removed the half shaft as Bentley says, you may not need to sinc ethe ocntrol arm will be out. Have fun of course.

Default Excellent points

I hadn't thought of the bearings/bushings since I just replaced them last summer but since I'm in there I might as well do them again. It's cheap insurance. Gotta get them stretch bolts ordered too... I'm on it.
