LOL! Happy Valentine's Day Everyone. Not having a good day...but keeping chin up!

family problems and being rejected by siblings and parents. Good thing I am at work to take my mind of some very, very heavy matters. But...that's life! Well, at least I have a cat to come home to and my car (but that has been talking back to me lately, but will sweeten up this friday once the Defcons go in).

FWIW, when I was young, I worked in hospitals that specialized in spinal cord injuries. Every day

that you swing your legs over the side of the bead and stand up, that my friend is a good day.

I had a hospital event like that. Doctors thought I wouldn't live, but proved them wrong

and I was pretty well far gone. Spent six weeks in the hospital and went from an extremely fit guy with about 4% body fat and 165lb bicyle racing weight to very quicly down to 128pounds. Could not function on my own, had to have a shower assist, someone feeding me, on oxygen, etc,etc, etc...but then one day I just said "screw all this, I want to get well to see another day", and I started on the road to recovery by walking just out of my hospital room a couple steps, then the next day a couple more, then 50 ft, 100ft., lap around the floor, then out the hallway and heading back home. Pretty much a year or more of recovery of very intense exercise and will power. Yeah, life turned on a dime for this guy, but I made it. I always use that time to reflect on when the chips seem down. In truth, I am one of the toughest people on the face of the earth insofar as this goes. It doesn't matter how hard I am hit, I will always get right back up! I take great pride in this knowing that even if it came to a physical fight (showing who is the real alpha male... LOL!), same would apply...but I don't go around looking for those opportunities.
