Default touareg torch: anyone got the p/n for the one that actually fits?

got one from ecs a while back and sadly it doesn't fit snugly in the socket. i'm guessing this is some difference between european and american lighter socket sizes, but i'm not sure. anyway, does anyone have a source or part number for one that fits right?

Default how are you defining "fine"?

mine charges and holds in place, but doesn't fit snugly and thus can buzz at certain rpm's,

Default It's even more snug than the cig. lighter >>>

It even requires a little force to push it all the way in and to pull it out.

I'm guessing at some point ecs got a shipment of the european ones as it seems some poeple have this problem while others do not.

Default the ECS one fit fine in mine. although it blew two fuses so far...not sure if that's the culprit

but without it plugged in...it seems fine.

Default Is it possible that the spring in your cig lighter has gotten compressed?

Note that the light doesn't have it's own spring connector.

Maybe I'm thinking about the wrong car, but other plugs have springs on them, and that can squish the spring in the car socket, leading to a weaker fit.

Try prying out the spring (with battery disconnected) for a tighter fit.
