Tire Recomendations
Ok its time for new tires, I know the where gettin old, but i still took them on the North Texas Audi groups spirited run through so great country roads north of dallas. But On a few turns i noticed alil slippage.
Right now ive got some Kumho Esco MX on my 18inch OZs. Those tires are so loud so i definitely dont want another set of those. I've heard avon and michelin are good for my current set up. I want something thats goin to be able to withstand a track day everyonce in awhile, but mainly for street use. I got an NTAG track day coming up in June at MSR.
What do you guys recomend?

I really like my Toyo T1R's - 30k and four track days and they are finally worn out
i've been pleased in all conditions. While they might be a bit lacking in roadfeel compared to some others like Pilot Sports or F1's - they are very good. Great in the rain and even when worn weren't very noisy. I got two weekend track day sessions on them as well. Very predictable - albiet a bit noisy at the limit.
They are also very lightweight compared to others - generally 2-3lbs lighter per tire.
For the money - they are a great all around tire IMO.

This is the way i went....17 Million miles of reviews>>>
and still an overall ranking on 8.9 cannot be all bad....
Only downside is they appear to wear quickly 20k or Less.....
just saw and E36 M3 that went through a rear set in a month (2k miles)!!!!! Of course he had a really bad alignment...but you get the idea...

I ran the Toyo T1-R as well. Finally gave them the death blow on my 8th track day....
understandable with a tread wear rating of 300. The tires are on the hard side for great dry performance- in the wet about the same, I have hydroplaned in heavy rain conditions. I just ordered a set of toyo proxes 4- looking for a tire that has better wet performance for the quattro but still a performance tire. Now for the track time to buy some r-compounds were its safe to drive fast ;^)
