Default New Lower Control Arm bushing:

TT-Stuff calls it a wishbone, I'd call it a lower control arm (LCA). Part #5 on this diagram, correct?

Getting the new CPT (Chicago Performance & Tuning) LCA this week, and will need new bushings while I'm at it.

TIA!

Default I don't believe you'll need them...>

The CPT's have a spherical bearing on the inner side. No need for any additional bushing. You could put a set of those on the top though..

Default Al @ CPT recommended a new bushing, inboard. I wonder if he meant ...

on the upper CA? I've looked at the pictures and wonder: the UCA could be the only place for a new bushing if we had the spherical rod end on the inboard end of the LCA?

I thought he told me to replace the outboard bushings, the ones that seized on SparTTan..

Default Yeah, this one. Did you replace the upper and lower bushing?

Thanks!

Default You don't live in the snow belt..>>

When we put Kmacs on Jeff's (Hallett) car last week those sperical bushings moved quite freely and seemed in perfect shape. He's got a 2001 and doesn't get driven in harsh conditions..Corrosion is what kills them..

You need a special puller to remove them..

Default I'll inspect them closely. They're inexpensive (US$28/ea), but..

I'd hate to have a "new" LCA fail after the vendor recommended replacement. Perhaps I'll have the dealer eyeball the bushings before we make a decision?

Mine was a Savannah GA car before I adopted it here in Augusta GA.

Thanks Steve, et al- a little hand-holding from the gurus goes a long way!
