Default Question for any Stage 3 Big Turbo guys>>>>>

I've been getting my car ready for the step up to a stage 3 turbo kit for some time now. I was planning on going with an ATP Eliminator turbo and Revo software. Problem is, no shop in my area (FL) will touch the job unless it's a DelRio or APR kit. Do you guys think it would be a big mess if I tried installing the ATP on my own? Or is it better to just bite the bullet and go with one of the complete kits?

Also, there is really no performance data out there regarding a TT w/a GT28rs or 2871. Can someone compare the performance to another car to give me an idea of the improvements.

Thanks Guys!!

Default Prepare for heartbreak...>

If you go with ATP. Lots of horror stories. There's a reason the shops won't touch them..

Default Issue with the ATP is there is usually some custom fabrication required

From what I've read it takes some custom work to get their half-assed kits to work correctly. Unless you have a large shop and have fabricated things before with some creative thinking I'd stay away. Honestly I'd stay away from anything ATP from the get-go but that's just me.
Even though I installed my Del Rio kit myself it was still very helpful to have someone to go to when things didn't fit just right. From the sounds of it though, there isn't going to be a Del Rio kit you can buy unless you're in Cali and having Jeff Moss install it.
Go APR, you may pay a bit more up front but I bet you could install it yourself, there will be only minor issues if any and will have a large company to lean on if you need assistance. And if you mechanically inclined, definitely install it yourself and save the money.

That the local shops won't touch it unless it's one of the other 2 kits should tell you something...

Default ATP might be getting a bad rap from the guys below; 034 sells their stuff, fwiw >

its a Garrett turbo, so you're pretty safe there, but I admit I really don't know either way. Haven't heard any horror stories, but haven't heard of anyone here with their stuff either; Trent's right on the fabbing, btw. Just do more research first, but all that said, imo the best advice is still an APR: complete, tested, operational package consistent with the limits of the engine.
