CD Changer Swap Question
So here is my situation. I recently bought a 2000 TT with Bose and was getting err1 messages on the CD changer. Tried cleaning the laser, different CDs etc with no success. I purchased a used CD changer from the same year VW New Beetle and upon replacing it had to do some minor modifcations to the connector (the VWs use a square connector as opposed to the round one). Whe I installed the new changer the head unit did not recognize that there was a cd changer installed. It powers up and I can hear it checking the CDs but there is no connection to the head unit. I tried resetting the ECU (by unplugging the battery) but still no luck, now the head unit will not recognize either the new or original CD changer. Any ideas? Thanks.
