TT Boot Cover

G'day. I just managed to get a boot cover for a 2001 TT. It seems to fit fine (8N7 871 041 B) and as I understand it, the boot covers are generic for 2000 to 2006 models. Having problems though with clipping down the retainers on the front side of the boot cover on both the driver and passenger side. Is this a common issue? Any tips on how to get them to clip properly? The mechanism looks fine and cannot work out why the clips are not locking in place.

It's a PITA ...

It's really stiff to get mine on, and sometimes you can miss with the little tab. Is the boot seated all the way behind the roll bars?

Definitely PITA. Yep - I think I have it fitted correctly - looks like it was all tucked under properly. Just cannot get those retainers to clip into the holes - as if the spring pressure is too weak or the holes and the peg it not aligning. Certainly looks good with the cover fitted, just a little concerned that the thing will fly off when I am on the freeway.
