Wheel bearing replacement, $250/side? Does that seem high?
CPT is the best shop in Chicago, but that seems a little excessive. And I vaguely remember having wheel bearings done last year (at a different shop), which would have been about 25K miles ago. Should wheel bearings fail that fast?
The shop charges $80/hr (I think). So say it's a two-hour job per side, that's $160. Then if I assume they charge me $90 per side in parts, that comes out to $250.
So I guess I'm just wondering how much time it takes to change a wheel bearing.
It shouldn't take 4.5 hours to do, but I guess thats what their guide says!
As for me... I'm DIY this one.
I looked into doing it myself, but I think it requires some specialized tools and equipment.
