A happy day turned sour...
Today was my last day of working at DHLs corporate headquarters... Sounds exciting but it was the worst job I have ever had. Anyways took an intelligence position with a defense contractor with a 40% raise. So you would think today would be a great day!
But.. As I was walking into work this morning I got a phone call, a disturbing one. It was my retention officer at my old Army unit.

Posting from my BB. Gotta split it up.
I served almost 7 years in the Reserves with 2 tours, stateside for 6 months and Iraq for 13. Anyways I have but out since Dec but contract isn't up until next July. He informed me that orders are being cut and I am one of them. They are to be delivered in the month of June. So unless I can find a way out, I'm looking at another tour in Iraq.

Sorry to hear it. My BN has served twice...
Even though I am IRR (Armor not in too much demand right now), I pray nightly for them.

If you are religious please pray for me. I have already seen enough death for all of us and I do not want to do this again. For all the medals I got over there they should know it has been more than enough. It is one dark cloud that will hang over my head forever. The worst part for me is not knowing why I was there in the first place (aside from being there for my fellow soldiers).

Thank you, they are pulling me from the IRR...
If I can find a unit within 50 miles that just returned, and they have a SSG or squad leader slot open, I think I will be safe. If not I will consider packing up and moving closer to a unit that does. Personally I cannot justify going back as I believe our commander in chief and his administration are committing treason to the American people. FDR said it best though.... We all know the quote.

I was attached to the 2nd MEF...
Although in the Army our chain of command was 2nd MEF and we did missions for them, lived with them, and even rode in the same gun trucks at times.... Oooh rah devil dog!
