timing belt won't go on!
TIA
when we were trying to get it on, we found that the belt would skip a tooth before catching on the sprocket when we started to rotate everything
so the trick/technique that we used when putting mine on was to align the bottom of the belt (by the crank sprocket) so that it was one tooth past the mark where it should eventually be. then, when you start to rotate everything to get the belt on, the belt will "skip" to the correct spot and you can keep rotating to get the whole belt on.
let me know if that does/does not make sense. good luck.
The trick to getting the belt on is the order you feed the belt on.
I clamp the belt to the top sprocket.
feed the belt down to the bottom sprocket and insert something to hold it on the correct mark.
The last is the water pump sprocket which you can work on by hand (if the tensioner is retracted)
See pics in link.
Hope this helps....<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1624120.phtml">Timing belt write-up</a></li></ul>
