Dug up some old pics of my Harley
Bike week certainly has me reminiscing. I bought this Sportster off the showroom floor in February of 2002. This was originally an 883 Hugger, which I promptly did the 1200cc conversion with.
Mods included:
1200cc conversion kit with Wiseco pistons
Dyno Jetted carb
Screamin' Eagle airbox
Bassani pipes
HD oil cooler
Accel wires
badlander seat
forward controls
bars, pegs, and grips
layback plate holder
reflector delete
belt guards delete
Ah, she was a beaut, but then my wife came along...

Surprised a woman caused you to get rid of it considering you already had a chick bike. ;-)
J/K, although you'd get a pretty rough time riding a Sportster with the group I used to ride with.
Looks like my ride will be going to a good home out in California in the next week or so..

I used to have to do business with the Guy from Florida that ended up looting the factory. Unfortunately, Florida laws forced us to be in business with the creep...

You would just love to see the factory these things are built in.....
They have one in PA where you get to walk the floor as they are being built. Folks building them sure look like they ride them too. Some of the greatest teamwork in the country too.

Only bright side was when the Florida guy sold T-Shirts and other merch for pennies on the dollar.
I got about 20 T-Shirts for right around $100, plus glasses, lighters, playing cards, etc... He pulled a good one there and most the crew in the know knew what was happening, just nothing to be done about it.

Ah Steve. Had you seen it, heard it, and ridden it, you would have liked it...
or at least appreciated it. It was a fine bike that was delightfully understated from a stylistic standpoint. It was very pure and minimalistic with zero gaudiness, unlike most Harleys out there these days.

He negotiated pennies on the dollar buy-outs of failing companies, then looted them and slid back into the shadows....He was a tough guy to deal with for sure.. He ended up buying out 5-6 Honda dealerships in Fl. despite our Sales agreement limitations on multiple dealerships...Florida law trumped us.....No good came out of it, or the Excelsior deal...
