Default Just when I thought I was done shelling out money, rev issues!

I suppose I shouldn't have been so naive to think that I'd be done spending. Aside from the fact that I have at least one wheel to repair along with a set of tires to buy, this will undoubtedly cost more as well.

Symptoms:
Most obvious at lights or when the car is sitting, the car idles like normal at around 800, then revs itself to appx 2k, then drops back to regular idle. Repeat. Occasionally, the car will hold high revs and let them bounce at 2k +/- 400, like someone getting ready to dump the clutch at a low rpm. Also, jerky low-throttle acceleration. Boost gauge appears normal during peak boost but I can't tell accurate vac levels with the car revving at idle.

Most likely a hose leak, but it's frustrating, because anyone who has an open window at a stoplight thinks I'm initiating a race. Not to mention, it's just one more thing to be able to get back to enjoying driving.

Default replaced the coolant temp sensor last year

how fast would it have gone bad? I'll look at cleaning the throttle body for sure though. Thanks!
