...any specific maintenance items beyond the usual that I ought to request? I've got another year on the warranty that I negiotiated with Audi when I lemoned the last TT, but the free maintenance ends asap.

Thanks!

Default DSG oil, rear differential fluid.

I just did mine a few weeks ago at 20K. both the the fluids were really, really dirty. And there was quite a bit of shavings on the magnetic drain plug on the rear differential casing.

Neither of those fit into the "Free" category though...

Default Bevel drive oil?

Apparently it has it's own oil, unlike the manual transmissions. The manual says it takes a special oil, but I'm wondering if gear oil will work. Any ideas?

Default I have been looking into that as well...

but haven't found any reference on what gear oil should be used. But since it's bevel gear box I wonder if something like the "Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube (75W-90) API GL-4" from AMSOIL would work?

what do you think?

Default I'm thinking 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil

The bevel gear isn't hypoid, but it seems closer to the mark to me. I'd like to think that Audi called for a special oil for a reason.

I wonder what the transverse VW 4Motion cars run?
