Default finally winning in my local autocross chapter...

I've been campaigning the TT for four years now, and have always been just a couple ticks behind an APR'd GTI and usually one other car. This year I feel like my driving got through that wall and I'm winning! It's sure nice. The car hasn't changed (much) year to year, and last year I was frustrated with my lack of improvement, but this year has started off well. I was even relatively close to a nationally competitive SM WRX STi. That was fun. Makes me think with just a couple more tweaks to the car, I could be really competitive.

Hmmm.

Anyway, that is all.

Word.

Default Look ahead!

Seriously, I've made a concious effort to look at least one turn ahead. I think it's helped...

Default I'll have to post photos of my camera mount solution...

I take my reasonably heavy duty tripod and put two legs down behind the driver and passenger side seats and extend them to touch the outer edges of the floor. I then have one back seat down and have the third leg extending until it touches the back of the trunk. The legs of this tripod can obviously swing up to any angle.

To secure the tripod, I take a pretty heavy duty rope and tie the center of the tripod to each of the driver and passenger side seat belt loops at the floor, then tie the center of the tripod again to the metal post where the seat back hooks into.

If done right, the tripod is sturdy enough to hang off of and I feel is much more sturdy than anything that attaches to the headrest. I can then adjust the center pole of the tripod to get the camera to the right height to see out of the front without the rear view mirror blocking anything.

Hope this helps and let me know if you want photos and I can put it together and take some.
