why is the Evoheatshield so expensive, shouldn't gaskets be ~$25, what are the benefits

this is a mod i would recommend in the more advanced stages of tuning (chip, exhaust, FMIC and several other goodies....
The powergasket solution has proven to not be as durable as the Evoheatshield....you get what you pay for..IMO

it's more a spacer than a gasket>>
it's made out of phenolic fiber and it's about 10-12mm thick.
the phenolic material doesn't transfer all of the head that is generated by the engine block/head to the intake manifold. Hence cooler intake temps = more power.
