Default Ok do I Rant or not

This forum has been great. You guys really have a wealth of knowlege and are always ready to share. Well I just got tired of some mods that just did not seem to go right and after putting rear V3 in and wanting to go the whole route looked for some shop to install front coilovers and Defcons & alignment. No one seemed close so went to regional forum and found some shop on there.I went $870 later-- front shakes @ 50+ left a cell light on & some minor scratches on rims. So much for that forums help. I called and asked if they were knowing on Defcons & K macs etc. "oh sure" NOT! had to explain all felt alot of $ and well more crap than expected--

Default The moral to that story.....>

It's never to late to start learning how to do stuff...

If you plan to mod your car:

1) Buy a Vag-Com (It's the ONLY way to diagnose our cars)

2) Buy the Bentley (It's not perfect, but it's all we got)

3) Buy some tools (they're an investment that will last you a lifetime)

4) Teach yourself how to use all of the above (I've saved enough over the years to MORE than pay for the TT)

If you chose to ignore this sage advice:

5) get a second job so you can pay someone else to do the work.

6) get a second car for when the TT is parked
after ignoring 1-4...and maxing out the credit card on #5

Other than that, enjoy the ride!

Default The killer is that most car work is pretty easy the second time you do it.

It just takes time, and shops bill by the hour, not by the difficulty.
