TT West: pics from pre-running the Crescent City drive!
Drove the Crescent City to Grants Pass leg day before yesterday, and you TT Westers are in for a treat!

It's a nice road, following the Smith River. Lots of vistas, nice pavement, a decent amount of passing lanes (have patience) and the topper is a lovely little jaunt through the Coast Redwoods -- not as tall as the Sierra variety, but still amazing.

Also visited the Ashland Springs hotel and had lunch in town. It'll be jumping because the Shakespeare Festival does great business. But there are terrific dining opportunities everywhere.
Prepare for weather anywhere from the 60 degrees and threatening that it was two days ago, to the 97 degrees and sunny that it was last week! The Coast gets down to the mid-50's at night.
I'll miss seeing you all there -- work (and a distinct lack of TT these days!) means I have to pass it up. But at least I was there ahead of you and am there in spirit!
Oh, and don't feel too sorry for me with the GLI -- what an amazing, underrated vehicle it is! With the four-link rear suspension, the 2.0T motor, and the electro-hydraulic steering, it's poised and tossable in every circumstance. Flat-out amazing, actually. I had a blast driving it, and am ready for the next 2700-mile round trip in a heartbeat!
Happy TT West to all!
~ Bobby
